Admission Standards for Communication Studies Minors: Students with a minimum of 15 semester hours are eligible for admission to the minor.
Students must meet with their minor advisor to identify an appropriate course sequence based on their interests and the course options offered. Prerequisites for 300/400 level courses may be waived at the discretion of the department chair, in consultation with the minor advisor and course instructor.

Complete ONE of the following introductory communication skills courses:
COMMSTUD.104 Interpersonal Communication
COMMSTUD.220 Intercultural Communication
Complete ONE of the following theory skills courses:
COMMSTUD.205 Understanding Social Influence
COMMSTUD.210 Organizational Communication Theory
COMMSTUD.215 Communication Theory
Complete ONE of the following research skills courses:
COMMSTUD.207 Communication Research Methods
COMMSTUD.209 Rhetorical Criticism
Electives Courses for Communication Studies Minor (9 semester hours)
Choose THREE 300 or 400 level courses in the department, at least ONE of which is at the 400-level.
It is recommended that students complete the core requirements first, prior to taking any of their elective courses for the minor.
