Requirements for the Major - A total of 67 semester hours is required for dual certification in elementary education and special education. This includes credit hours earned through the student teaching experience. Students must also choose an Academic Content Area in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies or Language and Fine Arts for 15 semester hours.
