Requirements for Certification in Early Childhood PreK-4/Deaf/HOH(PK-12) develop knowledge of the nature of the learning environment, the learning process, general methods of teaching and methods of teaching particular subjects and to provide student teaching experience when teaching young hearing children and all Deaf/hard of hearing children, adolescents, and youth. No free electives are available for this program. In addition to the 123-credit requirement for a Bloomsburg University degree, education majors are subject to background checks and passage of PAPA, PECT and any required PRAXIS exams.

Requirements for the Major - A total of 73 semester hours is required for dual certification in ECE (PK-4) Education / Education of the Deaf (PK-12). This includes credit hours earned through the student teaching experience. None may be taken on a pass/fail basis.
