15.101 Arabic I (3) - Seeks to develop novice proficiency with emphasis on intercultural communication in the context of the Arabic world. Language laboratory activities required. Not offered every semester. This course satisfies one additional course requirement from the approved list of communication courses for general education requirements/This course counts as a Group A, Humanities and The Arts General Education Requirements. Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisites: None.

15.102 Arabic II (3) - Continues to develop novice proficiency with emphasis on intercultural communication in the context of the Arabic world. Language laboratory activities required. Not offered every semester. This course satisfies one additional course requirement from the approved list of communication courses for general education requirements/This course counts as a Group A, Humanities and The Arts General Education Requirements. Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisites: 15.101 or the equivalent.

15.203 Arabic 3 (3) - Continuation of the development of the four language skills in Arabic, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, together with the study of Arabic cultures. The third course in the sequence of Arabic courses continues to develop communicative proficiency in the Arabic language at the intermediate level, as well as develop the ability to understand and appreciate Arabic cultures. Taught in Arabic. This course satisfies one additional course requirement from the approved list of communication courses for general education requirements/This course counts as a Group A, Humanities and The Arts General Education Requirements. Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisites: 15.102.

15.204 Arabic 4 (3) - Continuation of the development of the four language skills in Arabic, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, together with the study of Arabic cultures. The fourth course in the sequence of Arabic courses continues to develop communicative proficiency in the Arabic language at the intermediate level, as well as develop the ability to understand and appreciate Arabic cultures. Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisites: 15.203.

15.211 Arabic Cultures (3) - Provides an understanding and appreciation of the Arab world through geography, history, current events, arts and customs. Taught in English. This course counts as a Group A, Humanities and The Arts General Education Requirements. Three hours lecture per week.
