15.101 Elementary Arabic I (3) - Introductory course in Modern Standard Arabic. Student will learn the Arabic alphabet and sounds, basic grammar, vocabulary, and reading of simple text and writing simple composition. The course will also introduce students to Arab cultures. This course counts as a Group A, Humanities and The Arts General Education Requirements. No previous knowledge of Arabic is required. Three hours lecture per week. Prerequisites: None.
